Purdue Pharma Pledges $100,000 for New Cancer Center

NORWALK-Purdue Pharma has made a $100,000 pledge to support the American Cancer Society Regional Center, C. Anthony and Jean Whittingham Family Building in Norwalk. The $100,000 gift will support the operation of the Patient Resource Room in the new Regional Center. Over the past decade, Purdue has partnered with the Society on numerous community activities and patient advocacy initiatives. The Purdue Pharma Patient Resource Room will offer wigs and prostheses to cancer patients as well as multilingual materials, individualized information, and space for one-to-one consultations. In addition to the resource room, the 13,350 square-foot building at 38 Richards Road will include space for support groups, educational seminars, prevention workshops, and community outreach programs in the Nicholas and Anita Mercede Family Quality of Life Center.

Purdue Pharma, based in Stamford, is a privately owned pharmaceutical company founded by physicians.
